Field Installation Technician - Kempner, TX

The Field Installation Technician requires excellent customer service skills and technical ability. The position requires completing customer installations, service visits, on-site troubleshooting, and recovery of equipment. Work is performed on site at customer locations both with a physical aspect of installing Internet equipment, as well as a technical function of updating databases and working with equipment user interfaces..

Essential Functions:

  • Perform site surveys for potential customers to evaluate serviceability.

  • Diagnose customer problems and restore functional service to existing customers at service calls.

  • Install new customers with Internet service which includes mounting equipment at or above roof height, grounding system to NEC ground standards, and running Cat5e from outside to the customer’s desired location.

  • Configure routers and customer computers for access to Internet services.

  • Perform equipment upgrades for existing customers

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Work Environment/Hazards:

  • Working in outdoor elements such as cold, hot, precipitation and wind

  • In proximity of heavy machinery and moving vehicles

  • Moderate noise level

  • Use of PPE

  • Working in elevated places such as ladders and towers

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently moving, transporting, positioning objects of at least 60 pounds or more

  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms

  • Must be able to climb roof tops of all types and to perform job duties from high places.

  • Must be able to pull own body weight plus equipment weight up roofs and vertical tower repeatedly

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, sit, and climb ladders and communication towers and work in an elevated position

  • Frequently required to work in cramped conditions such as crawl spaces or attics

  • Frequently required to use hand and power tools

  • Must have the ability to climb extended heights up to 200 feet

  • Employee weight and tools combines may not exceed 300-pound limit as specified by the manufacturer of safety equipment.

Working Hours/Days:

  • 40 hours minimum, flexible schedule

  • Overtime as needed

  • On Call as needed

Outside Sales Rep - Kempner, TX

Connect people and communities by offering best-in-class telecommunication services through door-to-door solicitation of new prospective customers.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

  • Acquires new residential customers through door-to-door contact and from assigned leads.

  • Conducts proactive consultative needs analysis with new prospective customers.

  • Develops and presents sales presentations/proposals on products and services that meet customers’ needs.

  • Accurately completes all necessary paperwork to support sales activities in a manner consistent with quality control guidelines, including but not limited to the following: dispositioning, entering sales orders, and reporting on sales.

  • Supports team and team goals by actively participating in all sales meetings and training programs as assigned.

  • Achieves monthly sales quotas in high-speed data, and landline phone services.

  • Completes all administrative tasks related to products sold in accordance with department practice, policies, and procedures.

  • Well-informed about our competitors' activities in assigned territory; informs manager of any changing competitive pricing programs, marketing directives, or sales tactics.

  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as business needs dictate to maximize prospective customer contact.

  • A valid driver’s license, car insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and the use of a reliable personal vehicle.

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.


Required Education
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Success in a previous sales position, prospecting, or cold calling; direct sales experience is preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge of telecommunications services, with an emphasis on data networking fundamentals and the ability to educate consumers on related products and services as needed.
